Malabar Gold & Diamonds opened its first showroom, and the eighth in Andhra Pradesh, here on Wednesday.
It was inaugurated by Union Minister of state for Defence and local member of Parliament M.M. Pallam Raju. Local MLA D. Chadrasekhara Reddy also participated in the event.
A company spokesman said the number of Malabar Gold showrooms worldwide would go up to 220 by 2015 from the present 73 and 25 of them would be in Andhra Pradesh.
Raju said the purchasing power of the middle- classes was increasing and it augured well for such stores.
