Mercedes-Benz India on Friday drove into Rajkot in Gujarat with its chief inaugurating the first luxury car dealership in the Saurashtra region, built at an investment of Rs 7 crore.

The world class facility, built in an area of 21,000 sq ft, will display the entire range of nine cars of the global automobile major, according to a press release here.

Mercedes-Benz now has 58 outlets across 33 cities in India, said Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO.

He said 2013 has been a “very good” year for Mercedes-Benz India as it has aggressively launched new products and expanded to new markets.

Sanjay Thakker, Chairman and Managing Director of Benchmark Cars, said this was his company’s fourth dealership in Gujarat and sixth in India, including at Indore and Kolkata. Till now, Benchmark has sold nearly 2,000 cars, he said.
