He was Additional Director General of Press Information Bureau, New Delhi. Earlier, he worked as Director in Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP), Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP) and Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), All India Radio (AIR), Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Delhi in various capacities.
Nagendra Swamy had training at Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune and also attended the film appropriation course. He contributed for the success of International Film Festival of India and documentary festival held at Mumbai. He recently trained in UK and Australia on new media technologies.
