Charged-up after a thumping victory in the recently concluded Assembly polls in five states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is heading to his home state on Sunday wooing the key sections including diamond players in south Gujarat and farmers in Saurashtra as the state goes to polls later this year.

During his two-day stay in the state, Modi is scheduled to inaugurate a slew of projects including inauguration of a hospital, a diamond manufacturing unit and a newly developed processing plants of the Surat Dairy.

After attending the BJP's National Executive in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, Modi will fly to Surat on Sunday evening. A huge roadshow is planned to welcome the Prime Minister from Surat Airport to Circuit House, where he will have a night halt.

On Monday, Modi will inaugurate a hospital run by Patidar community, followed by a public rally.

Surat houses a large population of Patidar community, a section of which has been demanding OBC quota under Hardik Patel's leadership. Most Patidars are employed in the diamond industry, where the Prime Minister will inaugurate a privately owned diamond factory as an effort to reach out to the diamantaires.

Later in the afternoon, Modi will inaugurate a cattle-feed plant, an ice-cream facility of Surat District Co-operative Milk Producers Union (Sumul).

Post noon, Modi will fly to Botad in Saurashtra, where he will inaugurate the Phase-I of the ambitious irrigaton project Saurashtra Narmada Avataran Irrigation (SAUNI). Around 115 dams of the region under this project would conserve water overflowing from the Sardar Sarovar Narmada Dam, brought to Saurashtra through a pipeline network.

In the evening on Monday, the Prime Minister will fly to New Delhi.
