Kolkata-based real estate developer Shristi will build a seven-storey commercial plaza in Agartala. The project, a joint venture between Tripura State Co-operative Consumers’ Federation Ltd (TSCCF) and Shristi, will come up at an estimated cost of Rs 50 crore.

According to a company release, the fully air-conditioned Aitorma Agartala Sentrum plaza — spread over one lakh square feet — will have three floors for retail, two floors of office space and two floors for hotel and commercial use. While the building will be equipped with modernised fire safety arrangement, it will have two separate staircases as fire exits. The plaza will have basement parking for 50 cars.

“It will bring together a world of leisure, shopping, work and entertainment for all,” Mr Sunil Jha, Managing Director of Shristi Housing said, adding the plaza was expected to be operational by December.

Spaces have already been leased out to brands such as Metro Bazaar, Hoffman and Titan. Franchises of Reid & Taylor, Belmonte, Puma, Mobile Store, V2 and Café Coffee Day will also come up.

“The place comes with a commitment to become the most happening hangout zone in the town. Already 10 units for the jewellery zone have been sold out. Banks, financial institutions, insurance companies, educational institutes are in the process of negotiation with us to take up spaces in the commercial units,” Mr Rahul Verma, Director of TSCCF, said.
