The Telangana Legislative Assembly today passed a resolution demanding its fair share of power as per the AP Reorganisation Act.

After discussions and debate amidst allegations and repeated interruptions, the House passed a resolution calling upon the Centre to include Telangana in the 24x7 power scheme.

The power crisis in Telangana rocked the Assembly with the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti and the opposition Telugu Desam Party members were engaged in bitter exchange of words.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao accused the TDP Government in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh of depriving Telangana its rightful share of electricity.

Revanth Reddy of TDP said the power crisis was a result of mishandling by the State Government.

The Chief Minister accepted the demand to publish a white paper on the power situation in the state.
