TiE, Indian School of Business to connect start-ups, investors

There will be a business venture competition BizQuest where the winner can clinch a cash prize of Rs 1 crore, Murali Bukkapatnam, president of TiE (Hyderabad), and J.A. Chowdary, Mentor of TiE, said here on Friday.

The sixth edition of the event would broadly be attended by two categories of investors – those who invest in early stage companies and those who come at a later stage. “Early stage investors put in sums below Rs 20 crore and private equity firms invests sums beyond Rs 20 core,” Murali Bukkapatnam said.

Chowdary said the Connect events had helped develop an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Hyderabad.

On November 22, fledgling entrepreneurs would make their presentations, while the day two sessions would focus on angel investments, early stage venture capital, growth stage venture capital and private equity. On the final day, the event would focus on the prospective areas that the start-ups should look at. “Mobility, cloud, education, skills and healthcare,” Ananth Rao, Convenor of TiE-ISB Connect 2012 and Managing Director of Focus Ventures, said.
