Two special trains carrying panic-stricken students and professionals of North-East have left Bangalore for here, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said today.
“Two special trains left Bangalore yesterday and the Government has taken all precautions,” he told reporters here.
Making it clear that there was no major incident in Maharashtra and Kerala as was being rumoured, he said only in Pune there were some attacks on the people from the North-East and urged the people not to panic.
“Yes there is a large sought of exodus but there is no major incident. They (people from the North-East) should not come back as they have to study and work in these states. If somebody wants to come back it can be arranged”, he said, adding that the situation in Maharashtra and Kerala was normal.
