The Government will simplify policies and create an environment where private sector players get a level playing field, G Mohan Kumar, Secretary (Defence Production), Defence Ministry, said on Friday.
Addressing a seminar organised by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry on ‘Investment Opportunities in the Indian Defence Sector’, Kumar said Indian manufacturers need to hone their skills and cater to the domestic market with quality products in a time-bound manner to establish their credibility in the global value chain.
On the export regime, Kumar said that a supportive regime would provide demand for products helping the private sector in taking care of their investment risks.
