The Builders’ Association of India has come out with Construction Equipment & Building Material Journal to serve as a platform for various sector players.

Launching the monthly journal published from Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy said India has been one of the fastest growing economies for the last two decades. The sector players should equip themselves to take up the different projects.

"I am sure that the new journal will help the industry players to connect, network and collaborate," he said.

The Chief Minister said, "During the XII Five Year Plan (2012-17), the Government of India expects investments of over one trillion US dollars (approximately Rs 55 lakh crore) for the development of physical infrastructure."

B. Seenaiah, President, Builders’ Association of India (BAI), said the journal published from Hyderabad will act as a bridge between the infrastructure conglomerates and the regional players. It will also serve as a platform for vendors of construction equipment and material to showcase their products.

Established in 1941, BAI is the apex body of builders and contractors with more than 14,000 plus business houses as direct members and 134 centres across the country. It sees a great future for the magazine.

The journal seeks to cover the latest events in the construction industry and provide information on infra arena. Through updates of the latest government orders and Act’s, it will provide insight into the technological advances in the sphere, he added.

Construction sector is the second largest employer with more than 35 million workers after the agricultural sector. It connects with more than 250 allied industries.

The journal is expected to serve as a platform to cover construction and allied industries including cement, manufacturers and vendors of tiles, bathroom fittings, sanitary ware, hardware, steel, paints, electrical fittings and accessories.
