Former President A. P. J. Abdul Kalam on Friday said emergence of nano-technology would be one of the most significant achievements in the field of science and technology in the near future.
According to Kalam, convergence of nano-technology with bio-technology may replace many things in the field of medical science.
Nano-robots
Addressing the inauguration of the Children Science Congress as part of the centenary celebrations of the India Science Congress, Kalam said: “Nano-technology has come in a big way. It is indeed the future…According to me, it will replace micro electronics and many things in the field of medical science.”
Like information and communication technology emerged after the convergence of information technology with communication, convergence of bio, nano and info technologies can lead to the development of nano-robots, Kalam pointed out.
‘Be unique’
Meanwhile, Kalam urged students to be unique to achieve success. Attaining knowledge would be the key tool for that, he said.
“I have met 15 million youths in India and abroad in a decade’s time. I learnt that every youth wants to be unique, that is, you. But the world around you is doing its best to make you just everybody else,” he said.
