India needs a `Materials Policy’ which will help identify the materials required for next 100 years taking into account the available resources in the country.
Stating this, the new Scientific Advisor to Defence Minister, G Satheesh Reddy said his immediate focus would be to create synergy between the academia, R&D, public and private sector undertakings.
He also felt that the composition of Research, Development and Production by these organizations needs to be reviewed and both efforts and funding must be increased. The Scientific Adviser was here as the Chief Guest at the Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC) Day here today.
N Saibaba, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC said a record 1252 tonnes of fuel bundles was made by it during 2014-15, which was a record of sorts. He presented a list of achievements for the year.
On the occasion, the Stress Management Policy of NFC was released by P S Parihar, Director, Atomic Minerals Division and highlights for the year 2014-15 by P Sudhakar, Chairman and Managing Director of ECIL.
