In a significant development, the Lokayukta police have confirmed that they found no evidence against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his wife BM Parvathi, and others in the MUDA case. This comes as a major relief to the CM and his family, who were accused of land misappropriation in Mysuru.
In a notice issued to complainant Snehamayi Krishna, Lokayukta Police in Mysuru revealed that their investigation could find no evidence to substantiate the allegations made against all four accused. However, it noted that it will investigate others in the case related to alternate sites allotted by MUDA. The probing officers said they have submitted the final report to the High Court.
The allegations centered around Parvathi receiving compensatory plots in a prime area of Mysuru, where property values are significantly higher than the original land acquired by MUDA. The allocation was made under MUDA’s 50:50 scheme. Under intense criticism, Parvathi had returned all the sites to MUDA on October 3, 2024
Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, R Ashoka, addressing the media said the Lokayukta report giving clean chit to Siddaramaiah was on the expected lines. He took to X, and said, “The Lokayukta investigation in MUDA land scam was an investigation of Siddaramaiah, by Siddaramaiah and for Siddaramaiah. He added that the CM’s efforts to bury the truth and jeopardise the justice will not succeed. Justice may have been delayed but won’t be denied. “Truth and truth alone will win.”
