Though it lost to Germany in the semi-final clash, the match set some records in Twitter activities. The clash between Germany and Brazil has become the most-discussed single sports game ever on Twitter.
This game also generated highest tweets per minute (TPM).
Around 35.6 million tweets were generated during the live telecast of the match. Till now, the clash between Brazil and Chile with 16.4 million tweets was the most discussed match of the World Cup.
The inaugural match between Brazil and Croatia saw over 12.2 million tweets being tweeted during the live telecast of the match.
Highest tweets per minute
In the semi-final clash, Germany’s fifth goal against Brazil at the 29th minute by Sami Khedira, assisted by Mesut Ozil, recorded the highest ever 580,166 TPMs (tweets per minute) in the World Cup.

Till now, Brazil’s Marcelo scoring on team’s own goal in the opening match with Croatia was the most-tweeted moment with 378,085 TPM.
Brazil team witnessed a major blow when its star player Neymar Jr suffered a back fracture in a game against Columbia. During that match, there were 5,568,700 tweets mentioning Neymar.
