Team ICRA won the Bengaluru regional round of BusinessLine Cerebration Corporate Quiz, presented by Union Bank of India and powered by BSNL on Sunday.

The winning team members — Anand Babu and Mathew Kurian — received a cash prize of ₹10,000 from Alok Kumar, Deputy General Manager, Union Bank of India, Bengaluru Regional Office.

The Red Scarab team, represented by Ronak and Pradeep, was the first runner-up and received mementos from Vivek Jaiswal, General Manager, Karnataka Circle, BSNL. The second runner-up duo from Capgemini was represented by Sethu Madhavan and Rabi Sankar Saha.

The winning team from ICRA will participate in the national finals to be held in Mumbai on September 22.

The Bengaluru regional round witnessed a good turnout with the participation of 57 teams in the preliminary paper-and-pen round.

Questions ranged from various topics. For example: To celebrate its 100 years, the company announced that it will launch 50 new products in the next 12 months and enter new and exciting categories, including croissants, cream wafers and enhance product offerings in existing categories. Which company? (Answer: Britannia).

Another question was: The highest and lowest grades of which commodity are called ‘orange pekoe’ and ‘dust’? (Answer: tea). Six teams — ICRA, Capgemini, Christ Deemed university, Nexus Consulting, Red Scarab and Suguna Holdings — qualified for the four-round finale.

The competition, which was hosted by Miraj C Vora of Quiz Works, had questions in text, audio, visual and video formats.

The Hindu BusinessLine Cerebration Business quiz is one of the toughest competitions and is popular among the quizzing fraternity in India. The quiz targets business professionals, corporate executives and students from India’s top B-schools.
