Two contract workers died on the spot and five others were injured, including one who is said to be in a critical condition, in an accident at Gangavaram port in Visakhapatnam, in the early hours of Wednesday.
The dead workers were identified as Allu Satish Kumar and Suryaprakash Reddy. According to sources, the hook of crane that was discharging cargo (iron rods) got disconnected and the load fell on the workers. The cargo was being unloaded from a ship.
