Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) officials to beautify Krishna river bunds downstream Prakasam barrage in the city. He has suggested construction of a platform at the central point of the riverbed and beautification of bunds on both sides.

He was addressing a review meeting of Amaravati CRDA officials at the Secretariat on Thursday.

UAE delegation

A delegation led by Business Leaders’ Forum president Ram Buxani of the UAE came forward to develop two islands of the Krishna river. The forum of the Ministry of Economy of the UAE and Indian Embassy and Consulate-General in the UAE offered proposals to develop a golf court, hotel complex, convention centre, recreation villas and apartments on nearly 500 acres on both the islands.

Later, they signed an MoU with the State government. The Chief Minister asked them to come back with proposals.

They said there was a chance to develop seven out of the total 14 islands in the Krishna river.

Later, CRDA Commissioner Ch Sridhar said there was good response to Amaravati bonds. Cine producer D Suresh Babu and others spoke.
