Fancy being in the Golden Age of Hollywood, meeting or rather flying alongside some of the top DC Universe characters like Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman or prowling around the dark ‘Gotham City’? Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi may be just the place for you.

Spread over 1.65 million sq ft on the Yas Island, which is already home to several big budget parks including Yas Waterworld and the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros World is an entirely indoor-based theme park featuring 29 exhilarating rides.

Warner Bros Entertainment has developed the $1-billion park in partnership with Abu Dhabi-based asset management company Miral.

Fun galore

The park has been crafted to help visitors explore six ‘Lands’ — Warner Bros Plaza, featuring the Golden Age of Hollywood; Metropolis, dedicated to the Justice League; Gotham City, featuring some of Batman’s primary enemies including Joker, Scarecrow and Riddler; Cartoon Junction, designed around classic Looney Tunes characters; Bedrock, home of the Flintstones; and Dynamic Gulch, featuring the Road Runner.

Meandering through the streets of the art deco-themed portal at the park, the adventurous visitor can indulge in the Warworld Attacks in 5D or explore the Cosmos along with the Green Lantern at the Metropolis.

The daredevil types can also take the Scarecrow Scare Raid, which spins horizontally and vertically and also allows the rider to control the way he would want to spin his seat; or go on a revolving trip on the Riddler Revolution, a spinning-cum-swinging ride that will have the rider puzzled up in knots.

For those not in for such nerve-wracking experiences, the park offers options of lighter and more ‘fun’ rides.

These apart, one can experience animated antics and mad mishaps at the lofty dunes of Dynamite Gulch, or rewind all the way to the modern Stone Age in Bedrock with the lovable cave-families — the Flintstones and the Rubbles. Finally, to tickle the taste buds, the park offers varied gastronomical experience. Guests can enjoy authentically-themed dining experiences, from grab-and-go eateries to full-service sit-down restaurants and cafes. This apart, the park houses are custom designed shops featuring bespoke Warner Bros merchandise inspired by fan-favourite characters, some of which has been developed exclusively for the park.

Tourism potential

According to HE Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Miral, the Warner Bros World theme park is set to cement Abu Dhabi as one of the world’s leading family and tourism destinations.

Kevin Tsujihara, Chairman and CEO, Warner Bros, said the theme park will bring all the popular cartoon characters to life and provide fans with a “truly unique immersive entertainment experience.”

“Warner Bros has an almost-100-year legacy of producing and distributing high-quality entertainment to global audiences, and this world-class attraction continues that tradition in grand style,” he said.
