Wonderla’s move into the retreat space with The Isle aligns with the growing demand for differentiated leisure experiences at this price point
Wonderla has expanded its offerings into hospitality, marking its debut in the retreat space with The Isle in Bengaluru. Spread over 4.5 acres, the 39-key resort features glamping tents, cottages, and other accommodations.
Developed with an investment of ₹39 crore, The Isle is priced from ₹10,000 onwards and is part of a larger expansion plan.
Arun K Chittapilly, Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Wonderla Holidays, said the company intends to replicate the concept in Hyderabad and Kochi if it proves successful. “We want to do this in all our locations, starting with the larger amusement parks. If it works out, we’ll even integrate the retreat into the park design itself. It could be located inside the park as well,” he said.
According to Grand View Research, India’s resort market generated $14.0 billion in revenue in 2024 and is expected to reach $44.7 billion by 2030. Wonderla’s move into the retreat space with The Isle aligns with the growing demand for differentiated leisure experiences at this price point.
“Everybody wants something Instagrammable, but at the same time serene, a holistic weekend getaway. That’s exactly what we’re trying to offer, said Chittapilly.
Dheeran Choudhary, Chief Operating Officer at Wonderla Holidays Ltd., explained that every element of Isle is designed to evoke calm, curiosity, and comfort. The property features glamping tents, hammock cottages, curated campfire evenings, and pet-friendly spaces.
Chittapilly also noted that apart from serving as a space for getaways, Isle will cater to events, which he sees as an important category for the retreat.
