A fighter jet of Pakistan Air Force crashed today during a routine operational training mission in the eastern parts of the country.
“An F-7P Fighter Aircraft, while on a routine operational training mission, crashed near Esa Khel town” in Mianwali district of Punjab, a statement issued by PAF said.
The pilot ejected safely and no loss of civilian life or property was reported on the ground.
The cause for the crash was not known immediately. A board of inquiry has been ordered by the Air Headquarters.
Accidents during training are a routine in Pakistan and several small aircraft have been damaged in the past.
