A special court in Pakistan on Tuesday postponed its scheduled indictment of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf for treason until next week, after the accused failed to show at a hearing, and his lawyer cited security concerns.
Musharraf was charged over suspending the constitution and imposing a state of emergency in 2007.
The three-member tribunal was due to indict the former leader when it opened on Tuesday. In his absence, it rescheduled the indictment for January 1, and requested the Government to step up security for the next hearing.
