WSquare, a dedicated co-working space for women, was launched in Chennai on Wednesday. A similar workspace will be launched in Mumbai next week.

WSquare is a collaborative workspace situated in a residential area and in the vicinity of daycare centres. It is equipped with Wi-Fi, security, power back-up, yoga sessions, food delivery and spa treatments.

Mentorship According to Vandhana Ramanathan, Co-founder and CEO, despite work from home options and flexible timings, many women quit jobs after childbirth and a few find it difficult to join the workforce after a long break. WSquare provides them opportunity in the way of women workshops, seminars and mentorship that help them build their network, she added.

The workspace is aimed at freelancers, entrepreneurs, women on maternity break and ones who want to join the workforce after a long break. The facility can be availed either on a monthly basis or opt for flexible timing for five to 10 days in a month.

The passes range from ₹5,000 for flexible timings and ₹7,000 to ₹12,000 for monthly pass. The current facility can accommodate 30 women.

Expansion plans Ramanathan said the company is in talks with corporate enterprises, to deploy its access card facility to monitor the progress of women employees and to curate data on women who quit careers mid-way, their demographics and reasons that will help them create a workspace considering their needs into account.

There are plans to open eight more facilities in Chennai and centres in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune. Around ₹1 crore has gone into the facility in Chennai and Mumbai and the company plans to raise ₹100 crore for its expansion plans.
