The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIML) has concluded its summer placements in less than 5 days with 164 firms offering internships for a batch of 464 students.

Companies from the FMCG, consumer goods, and telecom sectors firms participated in the summer placements programme.

Asian Paints, Airtel, Coca-Cola, Colgate-Palmolive, Dabur, GSK Consumer, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Kellogg's, Mondelez, Marico, Mars, P&G, Pepsi, Reckitt Benckiser and Vodafone were there.

In addition to the traditional sales & marketing internships, these firms offered roles in supply chain management, IT, finance, HR, and analytics. P&G has extended highest number of internships in the segment this year.

JP Morgan has offered internship for its front-end markets profile this year, when it comes to BFSI sector. Other summer recruiters in the segment include American Express, Avendus Capital, BNP Paribas, Citibank, DBS, Deutsche Bank, Edelweiss, Goldman Sachs, and HSBC.

The placements also saw participation from a European hedge fund and 4 Indian PE players. The internships were made for the roles in front end investment banking, global markets, investment research, corporate banking, market research, trading and operations.

In the consulting domain Accenture, Alvarez & Marsal, AT Kearney, BCG, Deloitte and McKinsey made a total of 37 offers with McKinsey and BCG being the top 2 recruiters.

The general management domain saw participation from companies such as Aditya Birla Group (ABG), Mahindra and Mahindra, RIL and TAS among others. ABG was the highest recruiter in this domain.

Some of the firms from the IT, e-Commerce, and Technology sectors were Amazon, Capgemini, Cognizant, eBay, Flipkart, HCL, Taxiforsure.com and Wipro.

The social impact and education sector also made its foray at IIML this year with 14 firms offering internships in sales and marketing, market research, business development, finance, IT, policy research and project implementation.
