Politics also needs good managers and good leaders for good governance, according to Shashi Tharoor, Member of Parliament. Tharoor was speaking at the ISB's annual alumni reunion - Solstice, held at Indian School of Business' Hyderabad campus.

“More and more business graduates take up unconventional jobs and ventures and create a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem. Your education should give you a better understanding of not just markets but a country as a whole," said Tharoor. "Education is not a socioeconomic issue but an issue of national security. Ethics matter. Politics also needs good managers and good leaders for good governance."

"Be the change you wish to see. You don’t see the change without quality. Change yourself to change the world,” he added.

Tharoor also launched ‘ISB Rocks’ – the ISB Alumni Mobile App during the event. The application is designed to connect 6,200-plus ISB alumni with each other and the school anytime, anywhere. They will also get regular updates from the School.

The mobile App will help ISB students, present and past, to connect with other alumni in their vicinity whether in a new country or city, using GPS locaters on smart phones. The app will also give regular updates from the business school and also send push notifications so that alumni never miss out on any of the school engagements. It will help alumni to post jobs and get updates on job posting. ISB Rocks is currently available on Android for testing. It will be launched on iOS and Blackberry platforms soon.

Every year, during Solstice, ISB alumni across the years along with their families are invited to reconnect with their classmates and alma mater.
