Apropos of the article ‘Trump effect: A brain drain from the US to India?’ (June 3), the opportunity of reverse brain drain or simply brain Gain from the US, was waiting for India for long.
India has the colossal capacity to absorb Indian talent settled abroad.
We need not bank upon the vulnerabilities of the US or Europe but approach our vast talent pool not just in healthcare but in all fields of technology, engineering, biotechnology, space research, AI, cyber technology, robotics etc.
The engineers, doctors, scientists and research scholars expect equal opportunity, remuneration, respect, freedom to work, employment worth their qualification when they return to India.
However this aspect is largely ignored in our country and those who return to India, soon come to regret it. All the talk of reverse brain drain should resonate into the robust policy of their recruitment, remuneration and facilities.

The Editorial, ‘Lift the Veil’, is timely, relevant, and a necessary call to dispel the uncertainty surrounding the casualties of our airborne arsenals.
Reports from CNN and Reuters, citing anonymous sources, suggest that at least one Rafale and possibly a Mirage-2000 were downed. The Chief of Defence Staff’s statement has now indirectly acknowledged this, lending further credence to these claims.
Given the prevalence of discussions on war casualties — some of which border on misinformation — it would be prudent for the government to issue a factual statement. Such a clarification would help counter speculation and put contentious debates to rest.
I stand with the people of India in saluting the Indian Defence Forces for their unwavering commitment and strategic prowess, which have been instrumental in inflicting significant damage on the adversary’s military and terrorist infrastructure.

Apropos ‘India’s PE success story’ (June 3). Private Equity investment in India is flourishing despite the global uncertainties. It excels in right from fund raising, deal sourcing, participating in the target companies by analysing its financial operations and market positions to protect its investment.
Taking a sizeable stake in the target company, PEs help a great deal in capital formation in India.
Beyond making equity investment, PEs provide operational expertise and strategic guidance to targetted companies.

This refers to the bl. explainer ‘Why fuss over RBI ... (June 3)’. For the rich, gold is an instrument of investment, for the middle class it is and object of prestige and the poor pledge gold ornaments to meet emergencies.
RBI should keep this middle class and poor in the mind and make rules accordingly.
