Nothing signifies that your time is precious more than a watch that is priced in excess of what some people spend on buying a home.

The world’s most expensive watches are all about shock value and, more importantly, sticker value.

There are quite a few brands for which six-figure price tags are the norm, but some luxury watches go even beyond this yardstick, breaking through the $1- million ceiling.

Take, for example, the 201 Karat Chopard, which features 12 karats of blue diamonds, 11 karats of white diamonds, 15 karats of pink diamonds, 163 karats of yellow diamonds and even more white diamonds.

It’s at the top of the list of expensive watches, with a total of 201 karats of diamonds in a single timepiece.

But you don’t need diamonds to make an expensive watch, as exemplified by the Patek Philippe Super Complication, a watch that took five years to craft, with over 900 individual hand-made parts.

Other watches in the list boast more humble price tags, but nonetheless attract eyes and attention.
