Maserati, the Italian luxury car-maker, has launched the model year 2019 Quattroporte diesel in India. A classic example of authentic Italian design, the flagship Maserati sedan embraces the virtues of elegance and athletic attitude like its predecessors, the company claimed. The Quattroporte in Italian simply means ‘four doors’. The 2019 model is offered in GranLusso and GranSport trims, representing the blend of luxury and performance. The dominant, powerful nose is sculpted around the Alfieri-shaped three-dimensional grille, which is pointed and imposing, featuring vertical chrome rib elements that contrast with the depth of the ‘sharknose’ effect.

The Quattroporte is fitted with the high performance three-litre V6 turbodiesel engine, which comes with AdBlue technology and sets the benchmark in performance, efficiency and driving satisfaction. An official press release mentions that the Active Sound technology of the Quattroporte Diesel exhaust system produces a characteristic Maserati sound that underlines the car’s performance-ready nature, and which can be varied at the touch of a button.

The MY19 Quattroporte has adopted the redesigned gearshift lever, featuring a more intuitive shift pattern, shorter travel and improved operation. The driver now has the option to use the eight-speed ZF gearbox in automatic or manual mode simply by shifting the lever from right to left.

For the interiors, Maserati introduces for the first time, the full-grain Pieno Fiore leather. Pieno Fiore is available as an option in Quattroporte in three colours with specific stitching on the seats and double stitching on the door panels. Maserati also offers two brand new high-gloss interior veneers for the Quattroporte.

Harman Kardon Premium Sound system is fitted as standard, offering elevated levels of audio refinement, with every component uniquely tailored to perfectly match the Quattroporte interior. Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound systems is an alternative optional audio package available. In India, the 2019 Quattroporte’s GranLusso version is available at a starting price of ₹1.74 crore and the Gransport version at ₹1.79 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).
