Japanese automaker Nissan has announced the launch of two new variants of its popular Micra hatchback- the Micra CVT Automatic XL and the limited edition Micra X-Shift.
The new Micra CVT XL is almost the same as the regular Micra XL with the added benefit of Nissan’s Xtronic CVT automatic gearbox, which delivers an ARAI certified mileage of 19.34 kmpl. Nissan claims these figures are unmatched in its class. The Xtronic CVT transmission system comes with Adaptive Shift Control that allows the user to choose between three modes based on driving conditions- Sporty, Normal and Economy. According to Nissan, the gearbox will adapt to the driver’s requirements and arrive at an optimal shifting pattern. Besides the automatic transmission, the CVT XL also gains an anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and brake assist (BA). The MicraCVT XL is positioned below the high-end XV variant and will be available for an ex-showroom price of ₹6,39,990 in Delhi.
The Micra X-Shift, released to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the Micra’s launch is limited to 750 units. It will feature matte black decals on the side and roof and a chrome tipped exhaust in addition to LED scuff plates and parking sensors. The X-Shift will be available at the same price as the XL variant.
