Close on the heels of the world premiere of the Macan GTS at the Tokyo Motor Show 2015, Porsche is upgrading the 2016 model of its compact SUV. Enhanced features for all Macan models include the innovative Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system, which debuted in the new 911 and optional full-LED headlights.

The compact SUV also gets a boost in sportiness, with a re-engineered steering controller providing a more direct handling experience and improved contact with the road. A range of extended exterior and interior packages are also available as options exclusively for the Macan Turbo, enabling customers to add even more individual styling to their vehicle.

Features The new-gen PCM system now comes as standard in all Macan models, and is easier to operate through the new high-resolution 7-inch touchscreen. A Porsche release says that the redesigned user interface employs intuitive operation, similar to that of a smartphone. If the proximity sensor detects a command input, all relevant menu contents are displayed. Menu items can then be selected by means of multi-touch gestures.

Also, for the first time, the Macan is being offered with the optional full-LED headlights in connection with the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus. The new headlights sport a beam colour similar to daylight and improved range while also using less energy.

The camera-based dynamic main beam function has automatic adjustment of the lighting range during night driving.

Based on the navigation data from the PCM, the intersection light activates an additional lamp unit to deliver the best possible illumination of the area into which the vehicle is turning.

Macan Turbo package Drawing inspiration from the styling of its GTS models, Porsche is offering additional exterior and interior packages for the new Macan Turbo.

For the first time, a variety of design elements on the car's body give the compact SUV a sportier look. 21-inch wheels in 911 Turbo design, with exclusive bi-colour design, Sport Design door mirrors and wheel hub covers with coloured Porsche crest create an even sportier look for the car.

Special trim Matching with the Sport Design lower rear apron, the sports exhaust system features black tailpipes with smoked rear lights, which come together to lend an air of exclusivity to the Turbo top model.

Also, inspired by the GTS, special Alcantara trim covers the centre panels of the seats, armrests of the centre console and door panelling in these models.

The Turbo lettering on the headrests in contrasting colours and illuminated carbon door sill plates, announce the performance potential of the 400 hp premium SUV even while it is standing still. The newly introduced styling packages can be ordered independently of each other.

The new Porsche Macan models will be officially launched from early 2016 onwards and are available for order now.
