Holy smoke! A company in Gurugram is offering paid leave to its employees to visit the Mahakumbh. Baby & Mom Retail, a babycare firm, is encouraging its employees to attend the once-in-a-lifetime event, which it calls an opportunity for reflection and renewal. Says Shish Kharesiya, founder and CEO of Baby & Mom Retail, “We believe it’s important for our team to experience such moments without worrying about work commitments. We are more than just a business; we are a family. Supporting our employees in cherishing these irreplaceable moments is part of our ethos.”
There’s an unexpected Valentine’s Day bonanza from Honasa Consumer Ltd, the company behind brands like Mamaearth. Normally, companies frown upon couples working in the same office. Far from it, Honasa is encouraging couples to work together. Its ‘Couples Welcome’ policy, released on Valentine’s Day, challenges the long-standing perception that personal relationships and professional environments should remain separate. Announced by co-founders Ghazal and Varun Alagh, who started Mamaearth together, the policy is inspired by their own journey and aims to normalise and recognise the value of professional partnerships between couples.
Global hospitality company Hilton has announced a partnership with the Army Welfare Placement Organisation (AWPO), under which it will support meaningful career opportunities for retired Army personnel and their families. AWPO, a dedicated non-profit organisation set up by the Army, operates 17 regional offices and 49 placement centres across India, actively supporting veterans and their families in finding additional employment. Hilton says it finds a fit in talent from the armed forces as they share values like integrity and teamwork.
