ZipGo buys MetroZip, CityZip

ZipGo, a leading intra-city bus start-up, has acquired Pune-based bus operator Supreme Transport in a cash and stock deal. Supreme Transport operates 150 buses for intra-city bus services under the MetroZip and CityZip brands in Pune. Its fleet consists of air-conditioned buses and it also operates employee transportation services for a number of IT companies. ZipGo has raised funds from Orios Venture Partners, Ventureast, Omidyar Network and Essel Infrastructure and operates bus services in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Jaipur, Hyderabad, NCR and Pune.

Meesho secures $50-m funding

Social commerce platform Meesho has raised about ₹365 crore ($50 million) in a Series C round from Shunwei Capital, DST Partners and RPS Ventures. Existing investors Sequoia Capital India, SAIF Partners, Venture Highway and Y Combinator participated in ths round. With this, the company has raised about $65 million. The company will use the fresh funds for product development, scale the tech team, increase its domestic and international supply base and expand into more categories.

₹11-cr funding for Captain Zack

Captain Zack, a pet grooming brand owned by EM & EM Personal Care, has raised about ₹11 crore in a pre-Series A round from a clutch of investors. Part of the funding will be used for Coccoon, the other brand owned by EM & EM, which offers beauty formulations using exotic fruits plants.

Viithiisys Tech acquires Actiwate

Chandigarh-based Viithiisys Technologies, a boutique IT consulting and services company, has bought on-demand application development start-up Actiwate for an undisclosed amount.
