At a time when online retailers are finding it difficult to raise money, online furniture retailer Urban Ladder has raised ₹102 crore ($15 million) in a Series E round. The money came in from existing investors Kalaari Capital, SAIF Partners, Steadview and Sequoia, and new investors LTR Focus Fund and ABG Capital. This takes Urban Ladder’s total fund raised to about ₹ 610 crore.
The fund raise comes at a time when Urban Ladder plans to increase its offline presence, to take on its competitors. Its firs brand experience store spread over 3,500 sq ft opened in October 2016. The company is spending about ₹ 30 crore in setting up these stores. It also plans to expand in-house design.
