Brexit is unlikely to impact garment exports to the UK. According to Rahul Mehta, President, the Clothing Manufacturers Association (CMAI), “There may not be any immediate impact on India’s garment exports to the UK but a lot would depend on the exact agreements and treaties worked out between the UK and EU and on the tax implication on movement of goods between the UK and EU. Besides, there could be further delay in the signing of the FTA (free trade agreement) with EU.’’ CMAI is organising the 63{+r}{+d} national garment fair from July 13 to 15 in Mumbai.
