CLP India will set up a 100-MW wind farm in Chandigarh.
CLP India is a wholly owned subsidiary of CLP Holdings, which is listed on the Hong Stock Exchange.
The average cost of setting up one MW wind farm ranges from Rs 6 to Rs 7 crore.
This project will increase CLP India’s wind power portfolio to about 1,100 MW.
The company's projects are spread across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.
Rajiv Mishra, Managing Director, CLP India said: “We see enormous potential in the Indian power market, especially in the renewables field, and we are actively seeking new opportunities.”
The company has signed a turnkey contract with turbine maker Gamesa for the project.
As per the agreement, Gamesa will handle the entire infrastructure needed to set up and operate the wind farm, including installation of turbines. The contract also includes a long-term operation and maintenance service.
