Proctor & Gamble Hygiene and Healthcare recorded a 5 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 54 crore (Rs 51 crore) for the second quarter ended December 31. Total sales were up 33 per cent to Rs 471 crore from Rs 354 crore. Sales growth was driven by category expansion, consumer initiatives and pricing. Besides, a weak base period also lifted the numbers. The feminine-care business posted sales growth of 45 per cent with Whisper. Sales growth in the personal health-care segment was 19 per cent.
