Due to reduction in fuel and finance cost and one-time gain from sale of ships, the Shipping Corporation of India has reported more than seven times jump in net profit for the quarter ending March 31.
For the quarter, the company has reported a net profit of ₹101 crore, which was ₹13 crore in the year-ago quarter.
In the quarter, the earning numbers also shot up due to a gain of ₹35 crore as additional income from sale of ships. In the comparative period last year, the gain was a mere ₹2.84 crore.
