Consumer electronics major Sony India is betting big on the Indian wedding photography market to promote its range of point-and-shoot and professional camera series. This market is increasingly attracting interest from amateurs as well as professional photographers in a big way. Cashing in on this trend, “we hope to capture at least 15 per cent share of the digital camera market and 60 per cent share of the professional camcorder market in the current calendar year,” said Hori Masaki, Product Head, Digital Imaging Business, Sony India. It also has increased its camera line-up with more products. “The growth of wedding market presents a significant business opportunity for Sony’s Digital Imaging products, and we aim to aggressively expand our market share in the wedding photography segment, especially with our camera range,” he said.
