Entertainment company SVM Bowling & Gaming has embarked on major expansion drive setting up more facilities across the country and has decided to open up its network inviting franchisees to partner.

The Hyderabad-based company, which has set up 12 centres across five states, 11 of them in South India and one in Gujarat, is also set to open by far their biggest bowling and gaming centre in Forum Mall in Hyderabad with an investment of Rs 15 crore, spread over 38,000 sq.ft, offering exclusive zones for corporates.

Vijayender Tulla, Founder Chairman of SVM, said, “The company has grown to 12 centres in the last three years and we believe it is time to expand into new cities opening it up for franchisees to partner. Having strategic partners such as Sega, Raw Thrills, AMF, and our experience, we can help others to set up in just about three months.”

Typically, each centre is spread around 7,500 sq.ft to up to 17,500 sq.ft and the new one slated for launch at Forum mall will be the biggest set up by the company with 38,000 sq.ft.

Contrary to general perception gaming and bowling centres thrill people across all ages, as they also serve as entertainment centres. Apart from general public, corporate entities also use these facilities for entertainment and meetings in a relaxed environment. The new facility at Forum Mall will have a luxury area.

Referring to taxation in the gaming and entertainment sector, he said it varies from one state to another causing a lot of difficulty for companies in this business. Gaming and bowling centres attract 20 per cent tax in some states and zero tax in Gujarat. Therefore, the company is in favour of uniform taxation, he said.

To meet the next phase of growth, including exploring the option of setting up a manufacturing unit for some of the items in gaming centres, the company is considering raising funds, he said.
