Viacom18 Media, a joint venture of Viacom and Network18 Group, today said its Senior Vice-President (Consumer Products and Communications) Sandeep Dahiya has quit.

Dahiya had been with the group for eight years and had worked in multiple-functions namely consumer products, communications and corporate affairs, Viacom18 said in a statement.

The statement added that Dahiya is leaving to “pursue newer challenges outside Viacom18” and will continue in his current capacity till July 15 to ensure a smooth and seamless transition.

“Over the last many years, Sandeep has passionately led Viacom18’s consumer products’ business and taken it to a respectable position. He has laid a strong foundation in creating eco-systems for our brands outside their core business and we are committed to building on this foundation even further,” Viacom18 Media Networks Group CEO Sudhanshu Vats said.

Under Dahiya’s leadership, Viacom18’s consumer products business has grown many-folds today to span across more than 50 categories with over 60 licensees.

He also headed Communications for Viacom18, across all its businesses.

Viacom globally operates brands like BET, MTV Networks and Paramount Pictures, while Network18 Group runs news channels — CNBC-TV18, CNBC Awaaz, CNBC-TV18 Prime HD, CNN-IBN, IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat in India.

Viacom18 operations include MTV, Vh1, kids channels — Nick, Nick Jr, Nick Teen and Sonic, English comedy channel — Comedy Central, general entertainment channel — Colours and Viacom18 Motion Pictures, which is into film production and distribution.
