Former head of immigration at Infosys, based in the US, has filed a lawsuit against the company alleging employee discrimination and retaliation by senior management.
Erin Green, who headed immigration from 2011-2016, has filed a lawsuit before a US district court in Texas, and has sought trial by jury. He was fired by Infosys last year for reasons it has not clarified. In his complaint, Green has questioned the manner in which he was fired and has raised discrimination charges against two Infosys senior executives — Vasudeva Nayak, former head of global immigration, and Binod Hampapur, Global Head of Talent and Technology Operations. Green has alleged that retaliation by Hampapur made sure the new US employees received the lowest possible job level and salary.
The lawsuit says that Infosys’ workforce, with 93-94 per cent South Asians and Indians is a result of the firm’s intentional discrimination against non-South Asian individuals.
