Spot jeera prices declined on poor demand and increased selling by stockists and traders. Following the spot, jeera futures, too, traded weak as traders resorted to profit-booking. On the NCDEX, jeera February contract decreased ₹150 to ₹14,575 a quintal, with an open interest of 13,773 lots. Traders said that demand in spot was weak and buyers expect prices to fall more. Though there were some export enquiries at lower level, higher supply pressured jeera price. At Unjha mandi of Gujarat, about 10,000-11,000 bags arrived and sold for ₹2,450-2,850 per 20 kg. At Rajkot APMC, about 1,200-1,300 bags arrived and went for ₹2,600-2,825.
