Spot pepper prices fell on bearish sentiments and limited activities. Buyers are keeping away from the declining market, trade sources said. They anticipate further fall in the prices, sources told BusinessLine. On the terminal market, 12 tonnes of pepper arrived and they were traded at ₹690-695 and ₹700 a kg. The entire quantity was from the plains. No arrival of high range pepper was reported. On the IPSTA platform, all the active contracts remained unchanged. Spot prices fell by ₹500 to ₹69,300 (ungarbled) and ₹72,300 (garbled) a quintal. Export prices were down to $11,900 a tonne cf for Europe and $12,150 for the US.
