IT major Infosys extended its firm undertone in late trading on the BSE on Monday. At 2.40 pm it held gains of 3.61 per cent at ₹3,461.10. The stock had closed the previous session at ₹3,340.35.
Another IT stock Wipro joined the top gainers near the close. It spiked up 2.17 per cent to quote at ₹547.50. The stock had closed last week's session at ₹535.85.
The IT majors were joined by auto stocks Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Auto and Maruti Suzuki. M&M zipped up 1.78 per cent at ₹1,192.50 as against ₹1,171.70 at the close on Friday.
Bajaj Auto was trading at ₹2,092.35, up 1.68 per cent on its previous close at ₹2,057.75.
Maruti Suzuki was up 1.44 per cent at ₹2,624.30 as against ₹2,587 at the close last week.
