Working on cyber-linking of all State government departments and providing them with access to the Aadhaar network is progressing in Karnataka.
Addressing the two-day regional conference on ‘Minimum government, maximum governance’ here, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said Karnataka was ahead of other States in inter-departmental networking on Prime Minister’s instructions and had tightened service delivery.
Service deliveryThe conference was held to provide a platform to share experiences of the States and the private sector in the field of reforms/initiatives undertaken by the States/Union Territories to improve public service delivery, make the administration effective, transparent, accountable and citizen-friendly.
Siddaramaiah said, “Our government has just begun designing a platform for citizen engagement iCare through Mobile-One. This is another example of minimum government and maximum governance.”
Devendra Chaudhry, Union Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances, observed that Bengaluru is a Silicon Valley of technology and should have a future vision of technology as that of Paris.
He said the power of internet and technology would modify the processes for service delivery.
