Power utilities should adopt an effective energy management policy for energy conservation, according to Minnie Mathew, Chief Secretary, Government of Andhra Pradesh and Chairperson of State Energy Conservation Mission.
While addressing the participants at a workshop jointly organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry and AP Commissionerate of Industries here, she said the Government would support industry in developing and marketing energy-efficient products and technologies.
The State Energy Conservation Mission, which was launched with four sub-groups, was progressing well and would soon achieve its desired objectives, she added.
K. Pradeep Chandra, Principal secretary, Industries, Government of Andhra Pradesh said implementing simple measures of energy conservation would give significant ecological and economic benefits. By 2015, the Government was hopeful of developing norms and benchmarks for all the sectors of the industry and thereafter link it up with package of incentives, Rajat Kumar, Commissioner of Industries, said.
The Government was working towards promoting green factory buildings with the support of the CII, he added.
