Chatterjee said, "France had initially confirmed its participation as the focal theme country. However, in September they withdrew their participation due to certain shortcomings at their end". It would, however, participate at the fair.
Apart from Bolivia, Spain, Vietnam, Guatemala, Norway China, UK, US, Japan, Peru, Turkey and Bangladesh would also be present at the fair.
Organisers would also host 3rd Kolkata Literature Festival from February 4 to 6.
