L. N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research (WeSchool) in Bangalore organised 'Swachh Bharat' Abhiyaan in association with ELCIA, Rotaract Club of Welingkar and Inner Wheel.
The campaign included a walkathon followed by cleanliness drive in Electronic City, the institute said in a statement. During the walkathon vendors were educated about hygiene and the need to maintain clean environment. As part of the campaign, volunteers also cleaned the streets and shop premises, near Velankani Drive, Electronic City.
ELCIA supported the cause and provided bins, gloves, brooms and masks for the campaign, company officials said. As part of the campaign it was decided to organize cleanliness and hygiene awareness programmes for the vendors in Electronic city on a regular basis. The event was spearheaded by Prof. Anita Pillai, along with other WeSchool students under the guidance of Anil Rao Paila, Dean and Director, WeSchool Bangalore Campus.
