Public sector mining and power generation company Neyveli Lignite Corporation reported an 8 per cent growth in net profit for the second quarter of the current year at ₹259.35 crore compared with ₹240 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year. Total income stood at ₹1,402.49 crore (₹1,382.82 crore). On the BSE, the company’s shares closed 3 per cent lower at ₹92.70 against the previous close of ₹95.40.
