Piramal Life Sciences today said its net loss widened to Rs 40.97 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2011.
The company had posted a net loss of Rs 33.44 crore for the same period a year ago.
The company’s net sales stood at Rs 69 lakh in the fourth quarter, compared to Rs 71 lakh in the same period last fiscal, Piramal Life Sciences said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
For the year ended March 31, 2011, the company posted a net loss of Rs 142.98 crore, as against Rs 129.80 crore in the previous fiscal.
Net sales of the company for the year ended March 31, 2011, stood at Rs 15.90 crore, compared to Rs 6.21 crore in the previous fiscal.
Shares of Piramal Life Sciences were trading at Rs 100.80 on the BSE in the late afternoon today, down 6.01 per cent from their previous close.
