FMCG firm Nivea India has appointed Rakshit Hargave as Managing Director of its Indian operations with effect from January 2011.
Mr Hargave was previously the Chief Operating Officer of Lakme Lever and has also worked with Jubilant Foodworks (Dominos Pizza) and Nestle India.
He takes over from Mr Kai Boris Bendix, who will head Nivea’s Austrian operations as his next assignment.
“After starting up the Nivea business in India in the past five years, I am happy to hand over to Rakshit as a local executive. Nivea has become a very relevant player in the Indian market, enjoying fantastic brand recognition and a superior image,” Mr Bendix said in a statement.
Mr Hargave and his team will take Nivea to the next level in this decade, he added.
Mr Hargave is an MBA from FMS, Delhi, and has an electrical engineering degree from IT BHU.
Commenting on the appointment, he said: “Nivea has immense potential and a great image. I am very excited to be a part of the team to take it to the next level.”
